WVC 2015

This will be the 11th edition of the WVC, that was created with the goal of integrating Brazilian researchers working in computer vision area, and also encouraging students in meeting the area. In 2015, WVC will take place at University of São Paulo, in the city of São Carlos, São Paulo, Brazil.

The University of São Paulo (USP) at São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC) has educated professionals for over 60 years. It offers 10 undergraduate Engineering courses: Aeronautics, Environmental, Civil, Computer, Electrical/Electronic, Electrical/Energy Systems and Automation, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Mechanical Production and, Materials and Manufacturing. EESC provides enrollment for 490 students every year.

São Carlos is located on the geographic center of the São Paulo state, approximately 231km (144mi) from the city of São Paulo. The city is the center of a microregion with 308,777 inhabitants. Its altitude is over 856m, offering a mild altitude climate. Most of the year the city is windy, sunny and with mild temperatures at night. For this reason the city is nicknamed "Cidade do Clima" (Weather City) and celebrates once a year an event called "Festa do Clima", or "Weather Festival".
